The innovative Smart Hydroponic Farming project, conducted at the Faculty of Engineering, Sohar University by Omani students Ms. Reem Al Dhahouri and Ms. Alzahra Al Mamari under the supervision of Professor Rajamohan Natarajan and Engineer Abdulrahman Al Shibli, was selected as a finalist in Oman Climate Week (Muscat). The project combines Artificial Intelligence with hydroponics, using local agricultural waste as a sustainable growth medium to minimize environmental impact. It employs solar energy and smart sensors to efficiently manage water and nutrients, reducing usage compared to conventional farming. Supported by the Research Council of Oman, the project aligns with Oman Vision 2040 by advancing sustainable agriculture, innovation, and environmental protection.
